British band Level 42 are heading to Dubai for a one-off show at Bla Bla on 21 November.
Formed in 1979, Level 42 became one of the most recognisable names in 80s British pop, known for tracks like Lessons in Love, Something About You, and The Sun Goes Down (Living It Up). Their sound merged elements of jazz, funk and dance-pop, gaining them a strong following in the UK and across Europe.
In 1985, their album World Machine helped push them into the international spotlight, earning commercial success in the US and other markets. The band went on to tour extensively, playing headline shows and major festivals across Europe and South America.
While the line-up has evolved over the years, founding member and vocalist Mark King continues to lead the group. More than four decades after they first formed, Level 42 are still performing to fans around the world.
The Dubai date forms part of the World Machine 40th Anniversary Tour, which now includes 32 venues across the UK, including a second London show at The Palladium after selling out the Royal Albert Hall. The band will also be performing across Europe, with stops in the Netherlands, Sweden, Denmark and Spain.
Dubai audiences will now get the chance to hear the band’s catalogue live at Bla Bla, which has redefined Dubai’s day-to-night scene with its mix of 21 bars, beach club, restaurant and nightclub all in one beachfront space. It’s become a go-to for everything from pool days to late-night parties.
Alongside daily sets from resident DJs and bands, Bla Bla has also hosted other huge names in music including OneRepublic, The Script and The Human League, plus retro-inspired festivals like Rewind and Mixtape.
