Happening on 25 to 26 October, the annual foodie event connects chefs, artists and cultural voices in Dubai.
This is the fourth edition of What The Food by Alserkal and it features a combination of Michelin-starred chefs, award-winning restaurateurs and culinary innovators. Over two days these cultural voices will be looking into where food is headed next, through the theme of Disrupting the Table.
Talks run throughout the two days, and Asma Khan is leading the line up with Douglas McMaster, Fatmata Binta, Tala Bashmi, Nadir Nahdi and more bringing real perspectives on community, waste, heritage and climate.
This year’s edition is a deep dive into the systems, values, and stories behind how food moves through the world. This means equity, sustainability, heritage, and survival, all combined into two days that move the needle when it comes to food.
Anna Khan, chef, author and founder of London’s Darjeeling Express, will take to the stage on 25 October for the keynote speech, Redefining Food for Tomorrow, where she will reframe kitchens as inclusive and sustainable spaces, while calling for leadership focused on equity, community and local produce.
While the stage will be a platform for a whole host of voices, Alserkal Avenue will transform with installations, exhibitions, and film screenings. The festival goes beyond listening, it invites you to taste, touch, and engage through workshops, tastings, and creative activities with chefs and artists. It’s truly a foodie journey.
