Bringing a close to the ‘world’s greatest show.’
Following 182 days of entertainment, pavilions and live performances, Expo 2020 Dubai draws to a close this week. An incredible roster of international talents will perform at The Expo 2020 Dubai Closing Ceremony on Thursday, 31 March to celebrate the momentous occasion.
Global music icon Christina Aguilera will headline the festivities. The Dirty and Genie In A Bottle Songstress will perform on the Jubilee Stage at 10.45pm.
Grammy Award-winning cellist Yo Yo Ma will also perform at the Dubai Millennium Amphitheatre at 8:45pm, followed by Norah Jones on the Jubilee Stage at 9pm.
The cast of the closing ceremony includes more than 400 professionals and volunteers from 56 countries, including Mira Singh (the young Emirati girl from the Opening Ceremony on 1 October), kicking off proceedings beneath the world’s largest projection surface in Al Wasl Plaza at 7pm. There will also be concerts from the Expo 2020 World String Ensemble and Italian pianist Eleonora Constantini.
The show will also look towards the future, with Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence and Commissioner-General of Expo 2020 Dubai participating in a ceremony that hands the baton over to Osaka in Japan for the next Expo in 2025.
Expo 2020 Dubai Closing Ceremony will conclude with a magnificent firework show illuminating the night sky at midnight and 3am.
The final day of Expo 2020 Dubai is expected to be extremely busy, so visitors are advised to plan ahead. The use of public transport is advised for access to the Expo site, with the Dubai Metro running for 24 hours.
The Closing Ceremony will be available to watch on Expo TV, Virtual Expo and broadcast to a global audience across multiple channels.
