Les Benjamins teams up with chiropractor-turned-artist Dr. Azra on its “Peace in the Middle East” unisex collection.
Bucket hats and rectangular sunglasses are back! We predict that this will be the hottest trend this summer. The latest collection by Dr. Azra and streetwear label Les Benjamins has just dropped. It’s got a real 90’s feel to it and we’re here to relive it all.
Best known for her viral geometric henna designs, Dubai raised chiropractor-turned-artist Dr. Azra expands on her visual storytelling through an exclusive capsule collection with Les Benjamins. Azra – whose full name is Azra Khamissa – has collaborated with Istanbul-based brand Les Benjamins on a unisex collection that mirrors the East-meets-West synergy that encompasses both the uber-trendy brand and Azra herself.
The new collection, “Peace in the Middle East”, comprising of 14 pieces, including the nineties inspired denim two-piece with a daisy patchwork motif, emblazoned with the phrase ‘Peace in the Middle East’ across the back – ahem, size medium please. The same phrase and checkerboard motif continue across long and short-sleeved t-shirts, burgundy and sage green sweatshirts, relaxed-fit trousers, long skirts, and loose shirts, as well as the leather ‘Lulu’ bag.
Azra opens up on the meaning and inspiration behind the collection “Launching the ‘Peace in the Middle East’ collection during Ramadan is a reminder that for some people, this month isn’t easy nor is it peaceful. I hope and pray that this changes, inshallah”.
Elsewhere, having recently opened the doors to their first Dubai flagship store, at Mall of the Emirates,Les Benjamins has launched a pop-up shop inside the newly opened 25hours Hotel One Central.
The 25hours Hotel aligns with Les Benjamins ethos and commitment to celebrating the traditions and craftsmanship of the Middle East and Bedouin culture. Found in the Nomad Day Bar courtyard, the Les Benjamins pop-up space sees the launch of the Dr. Azra capsule collection, the Essentials line, as well as menswear and womenswear from the Spring-Summer 2022 collection and is expected to last until 22 April.
The new Dr. Azra x Les Benjamins capsule collection is available now, though you better be quick as we think the collab will sell out fast.
