The Dubai Comedy Festival is now underway.
Dubai fans will be treated to a night of never-seen-before material from Jo Coy in his long-anticipated Funny Is Funny World Tour on Saturday, 3 September at Coca-Cola Arena.
Inspired by his Filipino-American culture, Jo Koy brings his unique life experiences and colourful stories of his family to the stage in Dubai.
“I just shot my 4th special a few weeks ago and Dubai is going to be one of the first to see it live before it even gets aired on Netflix in September,” said Jo Koy. “This is a completely different routine to the last time and I can’t wait to share my stories with Dubai… it’s been almost three years and I have a lot more to say.”
As one of today’s premier stand-up comics, Jo Koy has come a long way from his modest beginnings performing at a Las Vegas coffee house to selling out the world’s most prestigious venues including Radio City Music Hall (New York), Chase Center (San Francisco), The Forum (Los Angeles), Mall of Asia Arena (Manila), and ICC Theatre (Sydney).
In 2021, Koy released his first autobiography, Mixed Plate: Chronicles of an All-American Combo to rave reviews. In this funny and moving memoir, Koy uncovers the stories behind his stand-up: the conflict, the drama and the laughter as he struggles to find his place in the entertainment industry, his home and around the world.
Koy will next be seen on the silver screen in the Universal Pictures comedy film Easter Sunday. The feature film is loosely based on Koy’s life experiences and will be set around a Filipino family gathering to celebrate Easter Sunday.
The event is presented by Blu Blood with limited tickets available from AED 180 from jokoy.com and www.coca-cola-arena.com.
