Recently honoured as one of Rolling Stone’s 50 Best Comics of All Time, Russell Peters began his comedy journey at the age of nineteen by performing at open mics in his hometown of Toronto. Over the next fifteen years, he finely tuned his comedic skills at venues across Canada and the UK. In 2004, Peters achieved global recognition with his CTV Comedy Now! special, beginning his meteoric rise to fame.
Russell Peters has shattered attendance records at iconic venues worldwide, including Madison Square Garden, The Sydney Opera House, and London’s O2 Arena, where he set the UK attendance record for an individual comedy show. His stand-up tours have been immortalised in successful specials such as Outsourced in 2006, Red, White and Brown in 2008, and The Green Card Tour in 2010. In 2013, he made history again by creating the first-ever Netflix Original Comedy Special. His most recent tour, The Deported World Tour, was seen by over 400,000 fans across 40 cities in 20 countries and culminated in the stand-up special Russell Peters Deported, which premiered on Amazon Prime in January 2020.
