If laughter is the best medicine, then the annual Dubai Comedy Festival is an overdose we all eagerly await. Returning for its next edition this summer, the ten-day event will have audiences roaring with laughter as it descends upon Dubai from 12 to 21 May. The festival will take place across multiple hotspots across the city – Dubai Opera and The Theatre at Mall of the Emirates included. Here is the lineup.
Dara Ó Briain: 15 May at Dubai Opera
Dara Ó Briain is one of Ireland’s most hilarious comedians known for his quick wit and razor-sharp observations. With a career spanning more than two decades, Ó Briain has established himself as a household name in the entertainment industry. In 2003, he became a regular host of the BBC’s satirical news quiz show Mock the Week, which quickly became one of the most popular comedy shows on British television. He has appeared on numerous panel shows in the UK and Ireland, and his diverse range of stand-up shows have been enjoyed by audiences around the world.

Jimmy Carr: 16 May at Dubai Opera
Jimmy Carr, one of the most celebrated comedians in the UK, is renowned for his biting wit and humour. Carr’s improvisational skills and ability to connect with his audience have earned him critical acclaim. His quick-fire one-liners and hilarious insights into modern life have made him a household name in the comedy industry. Whether you’re a fan of his stand-up comedy or his TV work, including appearances on 8 Out Of 10 Cats and The Big Fat Quiz of the Year, this show promises to be an unforgettable experience for all.

Joanne McNally & Vogue Williams: 17 May at Dubai Opera

Zakir Khan: 14 May at Dubai Opera
Zakir Khan, the beloved Indian comedian, is set to bring the house down with his latest 150-minute Hindi language show. He rose to fame in 2012 when he won Comedy Central India’s Best Stand-Up Comedian competition and has since released three hour-long stand-up specials. Khan’s anecdotal style of comedy, along with his signature punchline “Sakht Launda,” has garnered him a massive following of over 7 million subscribers on YouTube, making him one of India’s most popular comedians.
