DSCVR Partnership: The “Godfather of Spanish cuisine” opens his new restaurant on Friday, 17 March.
If the sound of air-cured beef, paella and suckling lamb gets you salivating, you’ll be pleased to hear that a new Spanish restaurant is opening its doors in the capital this week. José by Pizarro at Conrad Abu Dhabi Etihad Towers comes to the capital from beloved Spanish chef and restaurateur José Pizarro, who owns and runs the highly acclaimed José Pizarro Group of restaurants and tapas bars.
At his new 36-cover restaurant in Abu Dhabi, José will combine his passion for Spanish cuisine with a carefully curated selection of wines, sherries, sparkling wines, and cocktails. The stylish and lively venue exudes the same energy as his popular restaurants in Bermondsey Street, London, where he skilfully blends elevated Spanish dishes with casual tapas. The menu at José by Pizarro will be anchored around local ingredients, which will be utilised in dishes such as Cantabrian Catalina salted anchovies, spicy chicken croquetas, potato tortilla with caramelised onions and free-range chicken paella with beans and roasted peppers.
Based in London, José is regarded as the “Godfather of Spanish cuisine” in the United Kingdom. With restaurants across Europe, this marks his inaugural venture into the Middle East. In London, he is the proprietor of several establishments, including José Tapas Bar Bermondsey Street, Pizarro Restaurant Bermondsey Street, and José Pizarro Broadgate Circle.
