Two failed attempts later, the British-Sri Lankan comedian will headline Coca-Cola Arena this October.
Third time’s the charm — that’s the hope when it comes to Romesh Ranganathan’s highly awaited debut in Dubai. The British-Sri Lankan comedian will headline Coca-Cola Arena this October, as confirmed by GME Events, a leading event organiser that specialises in comedy shows. The company was also responsible for Michael McIntyre’s sold-out show at the same venue earlier this month. Incidentally, Ranganathan was supposed to perform in Dubai back in March 2020, and then again in October 2020, but a certain virus had other plans.
Famed for his self-deprecating humour and deadpan delivery, the comic is best known for The Misadventures of Romesh Ranganathan, The Ranganation, Rob & Romesh Vs, and A League of Their Own, all of which are hit TV projects in the UK. You may also recognise him from Asian Provocateur, a travel documentary that saw Ranganathan reluctantly travel to Sri Lanka in order to connect with his roots after his mother – a popular fixture in his acts – hilariously dubbed him a “coconut”.
Now, after a sell-out tour in 2022, Ranganathan is back with a brand-new show that examines the human condition. Are people inherently good? Is charity always a positive thing? Is hustling the key to success? Or is all this a load of rubbish we’ve made up to keep people working hard for no reason? Entitled Hustle, the new tour will travel across the UK before reaching cities in Europe and America. “I can’t wait to be performing in Dubai for the first time this October, grab your tickets now!” he says. Tickets for the Hustle tour are now available on the Coca-Cola Arena and Platinumlist websites. Prices start from AED 195.
