St. Regis Gardens Hanu

Expect a bold and innovative take on contemporary Korean cuisine.

St. Regis Gardens continues to diversify Dubai’s dining scene and, this time, it’s Hanu introducing the city to a fresh perspective on the new wave of contemporary Korean cuisine. A new venture by Sunset Hospitality, the restaurant blends traditional Korean flavours with innovative artistry, delivering a dining experience that bridges the past and present on every plate.

Led by acclaimed South Korean chef Kyung Soo Moon, Hanu’s menu is a celebration of bold, innovative Korean dining. Here, highlights include Korean Beef Tartare, Raw Red Prawns, and the comforting Sotbab (Korean rice) alongside inventive offerings such as Seafood Ceviche, KFC (Korean Fried Chicken), and oversized Kimbap Hand Rolls — each a playful twist on Korean culinary traditions. Many of these creations are inspired by Moon’s childhood memories, including the Kimchi Arancini with quail egg and chilli pickle, a refined take on his mother’s kimchi rice, traditionally topped with a sunny-side-up egg.

For those who appreciate the finest cuts, the bespoke Meat Me at the Grill experience takes centre stage. Each table is equipped with a state-of-the-art charcoal grill, sourced directly from Korea, where skilled waitstaff expertly prepare four premium cuts of meat to perfection. Tailored to individual preferences, the experience is complemented by six flavourful condiments – many of which are fermented or pickled to enhance their authentic Korean taste – while every sauce and dish is crafted onsite. Designed to be shared, this interactive dining experience creates a communal atmosphere every time.

The curated drink selection complements the menu, featuring a premium range of Soju, an iconic Korean spirit that’s rarely found in the city, as well as wines and creative cocktails designed to enhance the flavours of the food while staying true to the restaurant’s roots. Hanu’s design seamlessly blends traditional and contemporary Korean aesthetics — think rich dark walnut wood, antique furniture, and striking artwork. Three distinctive Korean pine trees, meanwhile, serve as striking focal points.

Guests can also enjoy the al fresco experience on Hanu’s terrace, nestled beneath a bronze and wood pergola and surrounded by kimchi pots and patterned screens, all set against lush greenery. With seating for 44, this is the perfect place to enjoy Dubai’s cooler evenings. Inside, the main dining room accommodates 58, while a private room for ten offers an intimate setting. Elsewhere, the lounge offers an elegant space for up to 13 guests, perfect for pre-dinner drinks.
