IKKA is adding a Latin spin to New Year’s Eve

  • 23 December 2024

Located at Hyatt Centric Jumeirah, the city’s newest Nikkei destination will ring in 2025 with a full-fledged fiesta.

From the parades and processions of Día de los Muertos festivities across Mexico to the samba dancers and street parties of Carnival in Brazil, one fact remains indisputable — Latin America knows how to celebrate a special occasion. And soon, you can experience a slice of the revelry as IKKA’s Latin Carnival kicks off at 8pm on 31 December.

That’s right, Dubai’s newest Nikkei destination is hosting a New Year’s Eve celebration that promises all the flair and flavours you’d expect of such a name. For starters, guests will have access to both a buffet and live cooking stations featuring Nikkei cuisine, accented with handcrafted beverages, Peruvian drinks included. At the helm here is chef José Luis Mifflin, whose journey from Lima to Dubai reflects resilience and artistic expression.

A master of Nikkei cuisine, he seamlessly weaves together the influences of Japanese precision and Peruvian boldness in his dishes, celebrating rich heritage through heartfelt culinary stories. And with live entertainment centred around Latin music, a DJ, drummers and dancers, you’ll be dancing as the clock strikes midnight and then some — the celebration is expected to run until 3am. No New Year’s Eve celebration in Dubai is complete without the vibrant colours and thunderous booms of fireworks and, at IKKA, you’ll be able to catch both the Burj Khalifa and Palm Jumeirah displays. Located at Hyatt Centric Jumeirah Dubai, IKKA overlooks the striking Downtown Dubai skyline, making it a great vantage point for the occasion.

IKKA, for the uninitiated, redefines the culinary experience by uniting the vibrant flavours and artistry of Peru and Japan. More than just a restaurant, a meal here makes for an immersive journey — a place where food tells stories, art comes alive, and every visit becomes a celebration of connection. There’s a number of Latin Carnival packages to choose from, starting at AED 1500 per person for La Fiesta in Private Dining Room. The Salsa Celebration in the Lounge is priced AED 2000 per person (indoor seating), while Fiesta under the Stars is priced AED 2500 per person (outdoor Seating). You can learn more about IKKA’s Latin Carnival here, and book your spot by calling 04 302 1241 or sending an email to [email protected].
