Dubai’s deep tech house event ‘Skyline Thursday’ is back at The Penthouse, with some of the worlds’ biggest headliners taking over the decks each week. This weekend the acclaimed nightlife venue is shaking things up with a special performer.
South African native THEMBA burst onto the global dance scene in 2018, with a string of high-profile events and music releases. He quickly became a resident at Black Coffee’s party in HI Ibiza, with shows in Amnesia, Ushuaia, Blue Marlin and Heart, whilst also touring 20 other countries in 2019.
His sound is forged from his African roots, incorporating local singers, songwriters, and percussionists to create his own unique take on electronic music. His music is heavily supported by Black Coffee, Hot Since 82, Adam Beyer, Pete Tong, Damian Lazarus and many of the worlds’ influential tastemakers.
Instantly capturing the industry’s attention, Themba has already been lauded by Mixmag, DJ Magazine Ibiza, DJ UK, Ushuaia Magazine, Faze, Mixmag Brazil and Deep House Amsterdam. His spellbinding DJ mixes have featured on the radio airwaves, including Pete Tongs BBC Radio 1 show, Apple Musics Beats 1 and Ibiza Sonica. To crown his meteoric rise, Themba was nominated for ‘Best Newcomer’ and ‘Best Breakthrough DJ’ at the Ibiza DJ awards and presented a short documentary for Beatport called ‘Monitor Johannesburg.
