Meet twins Michael and Lucas Fernandes-Pense, two London-based DJ’s making it big with their sonic mash-ups.
Raise your hand if you’ve ever caught a banging remix in the midst of an aimless scroll on social media — chances are you’ve unofficially been introduced to Altégo. The London-based twins, Michael and Lucas, have racked up millions of views and plays across social media and scored a Top 40 hit in only a short span of time.
Altégo’s ascent in the music world is a testament to their innovative fusion of past and present. Crafting tracks that resonate with the nostalgia of millennials and the energy of Gen Z, the duo have carved their own niche in a crowded digital space. “It began with individual experiments,” they recall. “Uniting as twins and sharing our dynamic online, however, was the real game-changer in engaging an audience.”
Their approach to music is refreshingly eclectic. “We bridge the gap between timeless hits and contemporary tracks, appealing to a broad demographic,” says Lucas. It’s their unique energy and movement, a nod to their Angolan roots, that sets them apart in an industry that often favours a more subdued image. Joining forces marked a turning point for Altégo, propelling them into the spotlight. And it’s this authenticity that has been crucial in expanding their reach, creating meaningful connections with listeners around the globe.

Incidentally, Altégo’s recent performance in Doha, Qatar, marked an important foray into international events — they performed a halftime show at Match for Hope, a charity football event supporting education for underprivileged children. “It was our first time in the Middle East, and the experience was nothing short of eye-opening,” admits Michael.
Following their first performance in the Middle East, the twins made their Dubai debut during the affiliate industry music festival, Manifest, which took place at Al Sahra Desert Fortress. Although they only had 48 hours in Dubai, they made the most of checking out the best the emirate has to offer. “The city’s energy is incredible, it’s like stepping into the future,” adds Lucas. But it wasn’t just the glittery skyline that captured their hearts; it was the warmth of the people and the vibrancy of the culture that made Dubai unforgettable.

Altégo’s plans for the future are clear: they want to become regulars on the UAE’s music scene. “We see a lot of potential here. Dubai has a vibrant nightlife, and we want to be part of that,” explains Michael. They’re not just looking to perform; they’re looking to integrate, to understand what drives the city’s crowds, and contribute to that scene. The twins are targeting venues and festivals that align with their brand — places where their music and Dubai’s love for entertainment can meet.
“We’re ready to take on venues across the UAE, from beach clubs to festivals,” they share. Joining Altégo for the ride, the dscvr team captured the best of what they do in a mash-up filmed above 25Hours One Central Dubai to introduce their talents to our audience. You can watch the video below.
