D12, Xzibit, and Obie Trice will perform at Coca-Cola Arena as part of their 3 Twenty Anniversary Tour.
The early noughties were nothing short of epic as far as hip-hop is concerned, and it’s only a matter of weeks until fans get a little taste of the glory days — the 3 Twenty Anniversary Tour lands in Dubai on 29 June. Rap legends Xzibit, D12, and Obie Trice will perform at Coca-Cola Arena, each celebrating the 20th anniversary of their most loved albums: Man vs. Machine, D12 World, and Cheers respectively.
The highly anticipated concert will kick off Dubai Summer Surprises and give hip-hop fans a chance to see Xzibit, D12, and Obie Trice perform their chart-topping hits together live on stage, that too from albums that left a lasting impact on rap music. Alvin Nathaniel Joiner, known by his stage name Xzibit, was discovered by Dr. Dre as a rising rap prodigy in the early 2000s and rose to fame with his 2002 album, Man vs. Machine. Debuting at number three on the Billboard 200, it set the gold standard for modern hip-hop. Beyond music, Xzibit’s international acclaim extends to hosting MTV’s iconic shows Pimp My Ride and Cribs, as well as a successful acting career with roles in the likes of CSI: Miami and Hawaii Five-O.
D12, also known as The Dirty Dozen, emerged from Detroit’s hip-hop scene in 1996 and delivered chart-topping albums worldwide. Their multi-platinum album D12 World from 2004 remains a fan favourite, featuring hit singles “Git Up”, “My Band”, and “How Come”. With past members including former frontman Eminem, the current group continues to deliver powerful live performances.
Obie Trice spent the early years of his global career signed to Eminem’s Shady Records label, where he wrote and recorded his debut album, Cheers that not only topped the charts worldwide, but also continues to resonate with fans worldwide. Now certified multi-platinum, it features an impressive line-up on his debut record, including spots from Eminem, Nate Dogg, Timbaland, Lloyd Banks, 50 Cent, and Busta Rhymes. Trice’s enduring legacy continues through his own label, Black Market Entertainment, where he has released three studio albums.
Collectively, Man vs. Machine, D12 World, and Cheers represent 20 years of influence on the rap and hip-hop scenes, so a night of nostalgia-infused hits is guaranteed.
