We can’t “Calm Down”. We are three short weeks away from watching Rema and Omah Lay perform live in Dubai.
Afroworld returns to Coca-Cola Arena on Friday 10 February for its second edition – and this time they have Nigerian singer and rapper Rema headlining the concert, with a guest performance from Omah Lay.
Get ready to experience Afrobeats at its best. The energy is going to be palpable.
Rema — who refers to his music as Afro-rave — released his debut album, ‘Rave & Roses’, in March 2022 which quickly shot him into global recognition. While his single “Calm Down” soon found its way on everyone’s go-to playlist, Rema’s truly found ‘legend’ status after Selena Gomez hopped on the remix to the infectious hit. The song debuted on the Billboard Hot 100, topped the Billboard U.S. Afrobeats Songs chart for 19 straight weeks, and reached No. 1 on the Global Excl.-U.S. chart.
Concert-goers can also look forward to catching Rema’s “Dumebi”, “Iron Man” and other energetic tracks that have taken the world by storm.
Joining him on stage will be Nigerian singer-songwriter Omah Lay, whose smooth and soulful melodies “You” and “Bad Influence”, have earned him a dedicated fan base. Known for his music style of merging Afrobeats with R&B, Omah Lay collaborated with Justin Bieber for the hit single “Attention” before releasing his debut album ‘Boy Alone’.
Omah Lay recently teased the release of a deluxe version of the 14-track album which has gathered interest from his fans as he continues to establish his status as one of the biggest Afrobeats act making waves all over the world.
