The new event series will kick off with the DJ’s Pillars of Creation show in Ras Al Khaimah next month.
It’s not just gaming on the horizon, people — Ras Al Khaimah will soon be home to an experiential new event series dubbed Seven Wonders, and it’s launching with the help of the world’s greatest DJ: Armin van Buuren. The upcoming gig will be no ordinary performance, either. The Dutch record producer will present the world premiere of Pillars of Creation, a never-seen-before show that pushes the boundaries of sound, light and immersive storytelling to deliver a truly otherworldly experience. Scheduled for 24 October at The Ritz-Carlton Ras Al Khaimah, Al Wadi Desert, this fusion of music and cutting-edge technology will merge with elements of nature (think: windswept and velvety smooth sand dunes, for starters).
We’re told that Pillars of Creation will act as a universal symbol of creativity and innovation in music, an expression of how sound can be born, transformed and experienced in completely new ways. This concept aims to capture the grandeur and mystery of space, creating a live show that completely reimagines Armin’s legendary work to present a story about creation and how music, like the stars, is formed and continues to evolve. Limited to just 1,000 tickets, this exclusive performance is the premiere to Seven Wonders Ras Al Khaimah, which will take place in 2025.
“I created Pillars of Creation to be a completely revolutionary experience – its way more than a traditional concert – the audience will be the very heart of an ever-evolving cosmos as I fuse my signature trance music with multiple genres to take guests through a multi-dimensional journey, telling a story that blends the scientific wonder of space and time with human emotion and connection,” said Armin, explaining his bold new artistic direction.
Showcasing a blend of cultural and nature-based landmarks with one-off performances by international artists, Seven Wonders will span seven weeks and see seven world-class artists perform at seven unique outdoor locations across Ras Al Khaimah. Celebrating its stunning natural topography – the sea, desert and majestic mountains – Seven Wonders will create a realm of imagination, providing artists an immersive audio-visual art platform for their creative talents through state-of-the-art experiences. Even a performance on Jebel Jais is in the works.
“Ras Al Khaimah has proven itself as a leading destination for hosting culturally significant, high-calibre events, and the launch of Seven Wonders will be no exception,” said Raki Phillips, Chief Executive Officer of Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority. “The Nature Emirate boasts stunning outdoor venues from Al Wadi Desert to historical sites such as Al Jazeera Al Hamra, the last surviving seafaring town as well as UAE’s only remaining hilltop fort, Dhayah Fort.” He added, “This extraordinary showcase of talent and creativity will no doubt give our audience the chance to experience Ras Al Khaimah in a completely new way.”
This awe-inspiring event builds on Ras Al Khaimah’s long legacy of hosting world-class and unforgettable events across the emirate. Steeped in culture and surrounded by breathtaking nature, Seven Wonders reflects its commitment in bringing visitors, residents and all communities together through unique events, entertainment and first-class hospitality in a variety of stunning locations from pristine shorelines to dazzling deserts, majestic mountains and beyond.
