The festive production will set the mood for Christmas as it runs at Etihad Arena for two days this December.
If you’re one to usher in the festive season with candy-covered spaghetti that’s doused in maple syrup, listen up: Elf The Musical is coming to Abu Dhabi. Touring several cities across the UK, the production will venture further afield to spread some holiday cheer in the capital, running at Etihad Arena on Yas Island from 14 to 15 December. And true to form, the spectacle will feature Santa’s flying sleigh, an audience snowball fight, indoor snowstorm, a giant candy cane journey from the North Pole, and even aerial cirque stars.
Produced and directed by legendary panto and musical comedy producer Jon Conway for The World’s Biggest Productions Limited, Elf The Musical is a supersized stage adaptation of Elf, the hit Hollywood movie that stars Will Ferrell as Buddy, a human raised by Santa’s elves. With a massive stage featuring amazing film backdrops on a huge LED screen, plus a mobile stage that travels the auditorium, everyone in the audience is guaranteed a close-up view of the action.
“Elf is always one of the most popular holiday films, and Buddy The Elf is a truly iconic character,” says the producer of this feel-good festive extravaganza. “This is the first time this hit show has toured theatres and we promise a heart-warming and hilarious night out with great special effects. The large cast is headed by Jordan Conway, who is stepping into the big floppy shoes of Will Ferrell. Jordan is one of the UK’s most exciting rising talents, fresh from playing Charlie Chaplin in London and Los Angeles in the acclaimed comedy play Laurel & Chaplin – The Feud. The cast also features Kelly Banlaki as Buddy’s love interest, Jovie, and Barry Bloxham as Buddy’s long-suffering dad.
