The band will make its Middle East debut at Expo City Dubai next year.
It’s a big day for the Idiot Nation as Green Day’s debut in the Middle East is confirmed. The legendary rock band will perform in Dubai on 27 January, 2025, and it’s all thanks to a collaboration between All Things Live Middle East and Expo City Dubai, where an al fresco venue that can accommodate 30,000 concertgoers will be built especially for the event.
We’re told that rock superstars Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt, and Tré Cool will play a selection of their biggest hits including “American Idiot”, “Boulevard of Broken Dreams”, and “Wake Me Up When September Ends” off their 8x Platinum-certified album American Idiot, inevitably evoking the angsty teen years of audiences. Cuts from their 10x Platinum Diamond-certified album Dookie and most recently released studio album, Saviors, are also expected. Formed in California back in 1986, Green Day is one of the most iconic bands in punk rock, boasting over 75 million records sold worldwide and ten billion cumulative audio/visual streams.
It’s no wonder that the band has won multiple awards including five Grammy Awards, six MTV Europe Music Awards, two BRIT Awards, six Billboard Music Awards, and 11 MTV Video Music Awards. “We are pumped to perform in the Middle East for the very first time! We have so many loyal fans all around the world, and we can’t wait to rock with them in the Middle East in the new year,” says the band. Incidentally, Green Day will be supported by another 80s punk rock band during its upcoming concert in Dubai: The Offspring. Dexter Holland and co. have released ten studio albums and sold more than 40 million records worldwide over the years, validating countless wannabe white guys along the way.
