What do Drake, Future, Post Malone, Big Sean, and Travis Scott have in common? One man: Metro Boomin. Defining not only the sound, but also the direction of hip-hop, the Grammy-nominated DJ and producer has collaborated with some of the biggest names in music, translating to notable tracks like “Jumpman”, “Bad and Boujee”, and “Low Life”.
Working with The Weeknd, he co-produced the Billboard Hot 100 #1 hit “Heartless” and contributed three more tracks to the chart-dominating 2020 epic After Hours. Along the way, he also joined forces with 21 Savage for the 2016 blockbuster Savage Mode and its even bigger 2020 successor Savage Mode II, which bowed at #1 on the Billboard 200 and went gold.
Now, Metro Boomin is gearing up to make his Dubai debut, bringing his signature style – trap beats that combine dark melodies, heavy bass, and hard-hitting percussion – to the Coca-Cola Arena stage on Friday, 24 January. Since bursting onto the scene in 2013, the Atlanta-based artist has redefined hip-hop with his unparalleled production style and a catalogue of massive hits. Among his chart-topping tracks are “Creepin” featuring The Weeknd and 21 Savage as well as “Superhero (Heroes & Villains)” featuring Future and Chris Brown.
But Metro Boomin’s influence transcends music charts. His 2022 studio album Heroes & Villains dominated the Billboard Top Rap Albums Chart for a record-breaking 18 weeks at #1 and featured multiple platinum-certified tracks. Most recently, he curated the official soundtrack for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, amassing nearly one billion streams globally and cementing his status as one of the most innovative artists of his generation. To date, he has received Producer of the Year at the BMI R&B/Hip-Hop Awards four consecutive years in a row (he is tied with Kanye West for having the most BMI Producer of the Year awards) and Producer of the Year twice at the BET Hip Hop Awards.
