Its inaugural festival will see Black Coffee headlining at a 10,000-capacity venue.
WHITE Dubai may have conquered the city’s nightlife scene with its open-rooftop concept and entertainment spectacles, but if its latest announcement is any indication, the nightclub is just getting started. The award-winning venue is gearing up to host its first-ever music festival on Friday, 26 May — and it’ll be a big one. Taking up residence at a 10,000-capacity space at Dubai Harbour, the event will be headlined by Grammy Award-winning DJ Black Coffee.
“We’re thrilled to have Black Coffee headlining our first-ever outdoor event in Dubai,” said Elie Saba, Managing Partner at ADDMIND. “As one of the most sought-after DJs in the world, Black Coffee is sure to bring an electrifying atmosphere to our state-of-the-art outdoor venue, which can fit up to 10,000 people and is being built exclusively for this event at Dubai Harbour. We’re constantly striving to curate experiences that are right at the forefront of Dubai’s club culture, and we’re excited to have Black Coffee be a part of that.”
A pioneer of the kwaito genre that originated in South Africa during the 1990s, Black Coffee’s signature jazz-soaked sound blends traditional African beats with an ethereal sort of house music and has been a regular feature on the global circuit of triple-A festivals, clubs and beach parties. Not only has he released several successful albums and singles, but also collaborated with a number of international artists. He has also won numerous awards, including the Best International DJ award at the 2015 BET Awards, and featured on the Top 100 DJs several years in a row.
WHITE Dubai, meanwhile, has quickly become one of the city’s most iconic venues since its debut in 2013. The club and its affiliate beach club have hosted some of the biggest names in dance music, including Armin Van Buuren, Jean Claude Ades, Dimitri Vegas, Diplo, Sander Van Doorn, The Chainsmokers, Steve Aoki, W&W, and more. Doors for the highly anticipated Black Coffee performance will open at 6pm, with the opening line-up featuring talented DJs such as Paul Svenson, Fredrick Stone, and Alex Twin. Tickets are now available for purchase on Virgin.
