Schulz started his stand-up comedy career during his college years in California, before moving back home to New York in the mid-2000s where he soon became a familiar face at the Comedy Village. In 2008, he performed for the first time at the Edinburgh Comedy Festival in Scotland.
In September 2017, Schulz independently launched his debut comedy special, 4:4:1, on YouTube. The following year, in June 2018, he released his first comedy album, 5:5:1, which swiftly climbed to the number one position on the iTunes’ comedy album charts.
