Remote work and learning extended due to unsettled weather conditions

The Government of Dubai has announced an extension of remote working for all government entity employees through Wednesday, 17 April.

This extension follows initial remote work advisories issued on Tuesday, 16 April, due to heavy rainfall and wet conditions affecting the country.

The private sector is similarly encouraged to implement remote working practices for the safety of all employees.

Alongside government operations, private schools in Dubai will also continue with remote learning to ensure student safety amidst the inclement weather.

Significant disruptions have also affected the city’s transport services, including delays at Dubai International Airport (DXB), where numerous flights have been delayed due to the weather conditions. In an effort to facilitate commuter movement and safety, Dubai Metro has extended its operating hours until 3 AM on 17 April.

Local authorities are urging residents to stay indoors and avoid unnecessary travel to minimise risks associated with the unsettled weather conditions. Safety measures and emergency protocols have been heightened to respond effectively to any incidents during this period.

Residents are advised to follow updates from official channels and stay prepared as the situation develops.
