The Irish actor-comedian will perform at Theatre by QE2 on Saturday, 19 October.
Dubai can’t get enough of the dim-witted Father Dougal McGuire, and the upcoming show from Ardal O’Hanlon at Theatre by QE2 is proof — the Irish star will take the stage at the city’s only licensed theatre on 19 October as part of his The Showing Off Must Go On worldwide tour. Beloved for his quintessentially Irish humour and observational quips, O’Hanlon has already performed at the likes of Almas Tower and The Baggot, McGettigan’s JLT, winning rave reviews every time.
O’Hanlon’s return to the city comes courtesy of GME Events, in conjunction with Outside The Box Events and Dubai Calendar. Famed for his roles in shows such as sitcom Father Ted and BBC crime drama Death in Paradise – and recently seen in Taskmaster and Would I Lie to You – he is an accomplished actor, comedian and author. The son of a politician, O’Hanlon has made material about the real world his signature, so expect plenty of stories, observations and anecdotes about the absurdity of life come October.
It comes as no surprise, then, that he sold over 300,000 tickets across Ireland and the UK on his last tour, and the new The Showing Off Must Go On tour is predicted to be his biggest yet. The stand-up show at Theatre by QE2 marks the comedian’s return to the UAE for the first time in over five years, so tickets are expected to sell out — fast. Comedy fans can also catch Jake Lambert at Theatre by QE2; the young comic will take the stage on Saturday, 9 November as part of his first solo tour.
Starting at AED 195, tickets to Ardal O’Hanlon’s show are now available via Platinumlist.
