It’s official: Sphere Entertainment Co. is bringing the world’s second Sphere to Abu Dhabi, and it’s shrouded in mystery for now. While key details such as the location and launch date of Sphere Abu Dhabi are yet to be revealed, we do know that it will be a landmark addition to the capital, elevating its entertainment offerings upon opening.

A joint venture between Sphere Entertainment Co. and the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi), this next-generation entertainment medium will be located in a prime spot in Abu Dhabi and echo the scale of the 20,000-capacity Sphere in Las Vegas. And like its predecessor, Sphere in Abu Dhabi is expected to be a major year-round draw for both residents and tourists, offering opportunities to experience events, concerts and shows like never before thanks to its cutting-edge setting, especially if the original is any indication. At 112 metres tall and 157 metres wide, Sphere in Las Vegas is not only the world’s largest spherical structure, but also boasts the world’s highest-resolution wraparound LED screen inside.
