Tonight team dscvr got a sneak peek at Dubai’s latest record-breaking attraction. Here is what you can expect from Ain Dubai when it begins rotating on Thursday 21 October 2021.
Situated on Bluewaters Island off the coast of Dubai’s Jumeirah Beach Residence, Ain Dubai, or the Dubai Eye as it is affectionately known, will become the world’s tallest observation wheel when it opens for guests later this year.
Standing at a staggering 250 metres high, Ain Dubai is the highest and largest observation wheel in the world. Double the height of the London Eye in the United Kingdom and New York’s Statue of Liberty, Ain Dubai offers unrivalled and unobstructed 360-degree views of the Dubai skyline and the city’s most famous landmarks such as Burj Al Arab, Palm Jumeirah and Burj Khalifa.
Carrying up to 1,400 passengers in its 48 capsules, 19 unique experiences aboard the record-breaking new attraction include sundowners and private dining in the sky. Shared observation cabins will provide never-seen-before Instagrammable views of Dubai throughout each 38-minute rotation. With bench seating or standing available, guests can enjoy a unique vantage point of not only the city but the mechanics of this architectural marvel.
Social cabins are lice3nsed and also known as beverage inclusive cabins, offering VIP check-in, access to Ain Dubai’s Seaview Lounge and plenty of photo opportunities during a spin around the picturesque new attraction.

11,200 tonnes of steel was used in the construction, roughly 33% more steel than the Eiffel Tower. The wight of the wheel rim equates to approximately 16 Airbus A380s, and each rim section is held in place using cables that would measure about 2,400 km in length if stretched out!
Ain Dubai’s base will serve as an entertainment zone, and an 80-metre LED screen will be mounted on the wheel to create an electronic platform for broadcasting and advertisements.
An opening date has been set for 21 October 2021 to coincide with the launch of Expo 2020.
Tickets will start at AED 130 per person for standard cabins, AED 250 per person for social cabins and from AED 775 per person for private cabins.
