This new beach is hidden in the heart of Saadiyat Island

Kai Beach

Kai Beach debuts with special rates for summer.

Barefoot luxury has a new address in Abu Dhabi – meet Kai Beach, a 500-metre stretch of public beach lapped by warm turquoise waters and hidden in the heart of Saadiyat Island. Incidentally, the Japanese word ‘kai’ has several interpretations (ocean, shell, restoration, and recovery), reflected by Kai Beach’s mission to merge authentic natural energy with creature comforts.

The setting, complete with a dune protection zone, is rich with native wildlife, including the critically endangered Hawksbill turtles that use the beach as their nesting ground. As for the facilities? They span all the usual suspects, including sun loungers, conveniently located changing rooms, and a food truck – all outshined by the breathtaking vistas of Saadiyat Beach, of course. Bites come courtesy of the always popular MLT, so expect all the classics to make an appearance on the menu (tacos, burgers, sandwiches and a tempting selection of Mac N Cheese dishes).

Entry to Kai Beach is priced AED 75 for adults, and AED 35 for children between the ages of six and 12 on weekdays. Come weekends and public holidays, entry is priced AED 95 for adults, and AED 60 for children between six and 12. Kids five and below, meanwhile, are granted complimentary access. Located off Exit 11, the beach is open 7am to sunset daily. Reservations, while not required, come highly recommended.
