The restaurant will return for a new season of Nikkei dishes and creative cocktails.
Nikkei cuisine may date back over 100 years, but the hype around it is (still) unwavering. Dubai alone has witnessed a wave of Japanese-Peruvian restaurant openings in the past few years, reflecting what makes the appeal of this rich and complex culinary fusion so enduring. Case in point: ISSEI.
Reopening after its summer hiatus on 1 October, the city’s top-ranked Nikkei restaurant has drawn foodies to Radisson Hotel Dubai DAMAC Hills for nearly two years now, earning rave reviews for its fusion flavour combinations and ingenious beverages every time. In fact, when it comes to Peruvian restaurants in Dubai, ISSEI took the top spot on TripAdvisor, along with ranking number one for its beloved ceviche after its stellar past season. And come early October, new offerings like All-You-Can-Eat Ceviche will put the likes of tuna and sea bass ceviche back into the spotlight, introducing more diners to their nuanced balance of salt and acidity.
Additionally, the restaurant will bring back its popular ceviche masterclasses, offering guests an immersive journey into the fragrant world of ceviche-making while celebrating the Latin roots of the cuisine. Themed nights will once again elevate the dining experience, adding a touch of cultural flair to the restaurant’s always easygoing ambiance. Previous seasons saw ISSEI host salsa sessions led by professional dancers from Venezuela and evening brunches accenting a curated selection of dishes and drinks with the vibrant rhythms of Latin music — and both only made the venue soar further in popularity.
The restaurant, incidentally, will remain under the visionary leadership of Luisa Serna, who continues to showcase the unique marriage of flavours that organically emerged due to the ingenuity of the Japanese diaspora in Latin America. Leading the season ahead, the Peruvian chef will not only push the boundaries of Nikkei cuisine, but also guide diners through masterclasses and exclusive events. “We are excited to welcome back our guests for another exceptional season at ISSEI,” says Serna. “Our team is committed to creating unforgettable dining experiences that celebrate the fusion of Peruvian and Japanese flavors, with events that will surprise and delight our diners.”
Mark your calendars because ISSEI will also be hosting a reopening party on 11 October. Bonus: your first drink will be on the house.
