Mediterranean elegance has a new address in Dubai

Jou Jou Brasserie

Jou Jou Brasserie has opened its doors at Four Seasons Resort Dubai

Perfectly timed with the long and leisurely days of al fresco dining, a new eatery has made its debut at Four Seasons Resort Dubai at Jumeirah Beach, bringing with it a hefty dose of Mediterranean charm. Meet Jou Jou Brasserie, where the relaxed feel of a coastal escape will meet the refined sophistication of French-Mediterranean design thanks to Tristan Du Plessis.

Based in South Africa, the international award-winning interior architect has collaborated on projects in some of the most spoken about hospitality destinations around the globe. Closer to home, he’s the man behind the likes of SĀN Beach, Ristorante Loren, and Mondrian Abu Dhabi, so expect a space that effortlessly exudes elegance, complete with a balmy terrace and cosy dining room.

With Jou Jou inspired by the way of life across Southern Europe, vibrant flavours and warm hospitality will take center stage, echoing the spirit of this convivial culture — think: neighborhood gatherings in the foothills of Tuscany or a village fiesta along the narrow and winding streets of Potríes. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner will be served at this achingly chic brasserie, as will a sparkling Sunday Brunch, running from 1pm to 4pm every week. Featuring an array of Mediterranean delights and bespoke beverage stations, it promises to entice guests to indulge in a feast that perfectly embody the soul of the region.

We’re told that Jou Jou’s menu has been thoughtfully curated, translating to a showcase of the finest Mediterranean ingredients out there. Diners will be able to enjoy a selection of hot and cold starters including Octopus Carpaccio (delicately enhanced with an espelette pepper vinaigrette) and Gambas (succulent prawns sautéed in lobster garlic oil and topped with Basilicata crusco pepper). For a shared taste of the region, the Taste of Jou Jou platter features a colourful medley of artisanal cured meats, aged cheeses, and bite-sized appetisers, much like the beloved tapas tradition of Spain.

The menu also features indulgent pasta and risotto dishes, including the must-try Lobster Mafalde Pasta (Atlantic lobster, blue crab claw, and semi-dried tomatoes enveloped in a rich crustacean sauce), while the Winter Truffle Risotto with sautéed seasonal mushrooms will be a decadent yet comforting option. Jou Jou will also serve a selection of larger plates that perfectly capture the soul of Mediterranean markets and family-style dining. From Wagyu Tomahawk served with a black pepper jus to the 1.5kg mussel pot of Moules Marinière, these sharing dishes celebrate the region’s love for connection and community.

Finishing the meal on a sweet note, Jou Jou will offer an array of desserts specially created by Senior Executive Pastry Chef Nicolas Lambert. Individual delights include the Spanish treat of Fried Churros, accompanied with homemade Malaga orange confit and chocolate sauce, and a velvety rich Chocolate and Olive Oil Slice Cake served with olive oil ice cream. For sharing, the pan-friend Apple Tarte Tatin served with Madagascar vanilla ice cream will be an enticing option, while the Tiramisu will be prepared tableside, adding a touch of theatrics to the meal.

“After much anticipation, we are delighted to unveil Jou Jou Brasserie, our ode to the Mediterranean,” says Leonardo Baiocchi, Regional Vice President and General Manager of Four Seasons Resort Dubai at Jumeirah Beach. “Jou Jou’s philosophy revolves around life’s little pleasures — simple recipes cooked to perfection, a service ethos rooted in warmth and an ever-joyful atmosphere. We are proud to present Jou Jou as part of our bid to elevate Dubai’s already thriving dining scene.”
