Debuting at J1 Beach later this year, Sirene Beach by GAIA will soon be the world’s biggest beach club.
There’s new and noteworthy beach clubs in Dubai — and then there’s Sirene Beach by Gaia. Conceptualized by the ultimate power duo of the dining industry, Evgeny Kuzin and Chef Izu Ani, it will be the world’s biggest beach club when it debuts at J1 Beach in December, spanning a staggering 9,000 square meters. Kuzin and Ani, for the uninitiated, are the creative forces behind some of Dubai’s most iconic dining destinations (Gaia, Scalini, Izu Burger, and La Maison Ani included).

Designed to set a new benchmark in refined beachside luxury, Sirene is the result of a seamless collaboration between the renowned GAIA restaurant and the timeless beauty of an Aegean-inspired beach club, creating a space where Mediterranean flavours and coastal elegance converge in a one-of-a-kind experience. We’re told that Sirene is designed as a multi-zoned space rather than just a single restaurant, translating to hidden bars, private cabanas, and a stunning swimming pool collectively fostering a sense of discovery. As the energy effortlessly flows between the 400-seat restaurant and terraced areas leading to the beach, a DJ will help set the mood throughout the day. Incidentally, the term ‘sirene’ refers to enchanting creatures in Greek mythology, often depicted as beautiful maidens with mesmerizing voices. This essence has been ingeniously integrated into the overall concept, reflecting a modern interpretation of their mythological qualities.

“Drawing inspiration from the Mediterranean-Greek lifestyle and mythical sirens, Sirene offers a luxurious yet relaxed atmosphere, evolving from the GAIA restaurant brand, where dining takes place right on the beach,” explains First Within, the London-based interior design studio responsible for the venue’s narrative. “The elegant, yet laidback design features a Greek-inspired courtyard that welcomes guests into the world of Sirene, with Greek arches, intricate mosaics, heritage stone walls, and draped fabrics surrounded by lush Mediterranean-style landscaping. The ambiance encourages both vibrant energy and serene relaxation. The key elements from GAIA, such as the iconic fish market and the rustic wood oven, are incorporated into the design, bringing familiar touches that elevate the overall dining experience. We also embraced vibrant colours and rich textures throughout the space to create an inviting yet luxurious atmosphere, ensuring that Sirene Beach stands out as a unique and captivating destination on Dubai’s coast.”

At its heart, however, is a menu that reflects the very soul of the Aegean. Drawing from the freshest ingredients and inspired by traditional cooking techniques, Sirene’s culinary offerings are a masterful combination of GAIA’s celebrated culinary expertise with the easygoing charm of beachside dining. “Sirene is a place that we wanted to create for our guests to enjoy their day as if they were on holiday, even if it’s just for a few hours,” added Ani. “Living in the middle of life’s fast-paced environment, we all need moments of escape, a space where time slows down, and transports you to another reality — a place where you can relax and recharge. Sirene is rooted in the idea that the most memorable moments happen when people gather around a table and eat good food, in a great environment, with the right music and vibe. Sirene is a moment of escapism that charms you to enjoy simple things in life and untie knots.”
