Dubbed the pinnacle of artistic entertainment, Crazy Horse Dubai will be launched before the end of the year.
The average tourist in Paris will hightail it to Moulin Rouge, where high kicks and ruffled skirts have set the scene for a world-famous cabaret show since 1889. Those in the know, however, will tell you to book tickets to Crazy Horse – which debuted 62 years later – instead. The lively cancan never makes an appearance at this intimately sized club. Instead, the dance moves merge cabaret with burlesque, and rely on deftly choreographed light and shadows to result in a sultry yet sophisticated act that’s entirely different from its predecessor. And soon, you’ll be able to catch it right here in Dubai.
While a location and opening date has yet to be announced, we know that it will debut before the end of the year by 111 Management . We’re also told that 111 Management is responsible for Crazy Horse’s journey from Avenue George V in Paris to Dubai, where it’ll undoubtedly cause a stir. If the original is any indication, audiences can expect to be dazzled with a tantalising performance by the legendary Crazy Girls for 90 minutes, complete with acrobatics, contortion acts and more. The ongoing Totally Crazy! show celebrates over 70 years of oh-so-glamorous productions, featuring the quintessence of the Parisian cabaret’s most iconic acts to date.
This rich artistic legacy has also been celebrated among artists and designers alike, many of whom have collaborated with Crazy Horse Paris — Karl Lagerfeld once designed a little black dress for an act inspired by the famous scene of Marilyn Monroe standing over a subway grate in The Seven Year Itch, while Paco Rabanne chose it as the setting to present his iconic metal dress. As for guest stars? Everyone from Dita Von Teese and Carmen Electra to Pamela Anderson and Lisa from K-pop group Blackpink have contributed their artistic vision to Crazy Horse over the years.
Crazy Horse aside, 111 Management is gearing up to launch the likes of Gatsby (a 1920s take on the dinner-show concept ), African Queen (a hybrid of French culture and African flavours), and Jondal (a seafood spot imported from Ibiza). Its portfolio currently includes Kaspia, Beefbar, La Table, Le Petit Beefbar, and L’Atelier de Robuchon.
