Take a cue from Federico Fellini, and pair your next plate of pasta with a little magic at La Camera! By TOTÓ. Part of TOTÓ’s evolution, the new nightlife spot is now open on the restaurant’s first floor at Hotel Boulevard, Autograph Collection, drawing inspiration from the Italian film director’s famous quote. Fellini, for the uninitiated, is known for his distinctive style of using circus imagery in his films, which evoke flamboyant romanticism and a love for mystery and make-believe. And like its predecessor, the Mabel Hospitality concept is co-founded by some of the biggest names in sports: football legend Cristiano Ronaldo, tennis superstar Rafael Nadal, and LA Lakers champion Pau Gasol.
Blending the melodic sounds of live jazz, soul, funk, and blues with Italian gastronomy and world-class mixology, this one-of-a-kind venue is open from Thursday to Saturday, 8pm to late. Inspired by the glitz and glamour of Italian cinema’s golden era, La Camera takes a step back in time, paying homage to legendary Italian screen icons like Sophia Loren, Gina Lollobrigida, and Marcello Mastroianni. Located in Downtown Dubai, its interior is adorned in rich dark wood floors, black granite, and touches of deep green accentuated by warm lighting and elegant curtains. Collectively, they induce a sense of nostalgia, reminiscent of old movie marquees and film posters, in an intimate setting.
Guests can begin their evening with Insalata di Fiori (an edible flower salad served on a bed of potatoes and sundried tomatoes), Stracciatella topped with caviar and spicy datterino jam, and Crocchette e Caviale filled with bechamel sauce. The mains that follow span carefully choreographed Italian dishes such as Tagliata di Wagyu (striploin served with truffle and seasonal mushrooms) and Gillardeau Oysters No.2 topped with pesto foam and caviar. Wrap up the night with an array of irresistible dolce such as Piccola Pasticceria, which includes everything from small pastries, tiny tarts and ice cream while relishing fruity mocktails and refreshing cocktails. Case in point: Fellini Negroni. Marrying berry-infused gin with Campari, passionfruit, dried hibiscus and a cold washed with sweet Vermouth, it’s one of La Camera’s distinctive takes on a classic Negroni.

Every detail, from the barely visible corridor lined with vintage cinematic images to the moody, dimly lit wine cellar, and director-inspired bar stools, each touch evokes the charm of Fellini’s films. Inside, guests are surrounded by luxurious décor and cinematic lighting, all paired with Italian gastronomic artistry and innovative mixology. Our goal was to create a beverage programme that satisfies even the most discerning, well-traveled connoisseurs. And the night comes alive with immersive live performances from extraordinary singers and musicians.”
