Kendrick Lamar to perform at Yasalam after-race concerts

The second headline act for the 2022 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix has been announced.

Yas Marina Circuit and FLASH Entertainment have announced the second international act to headline this year’s Yasalam After-Race Concerts as part of the Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix 2022.

Kendrick Lamar has been added to the Yasalam After-Race Concerts lineup and will take to the stage on Saturday, 19 November 2022 at Etihad Park.

It has been quite a year for the rapper who hails from Compton in California. He released his fifth studio album Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers, to both public and critical acclaim in May and headlined both the Coachella and Glastonbury music festivals.

Kendrick Lamar is no stranger to the capital, having been scheduled to perform at the 2017 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. However, the show was cancelled for “personal reasons”, and Lamar was replaced by fellow rapper J. Cole. 

This year is shaping up to be one of the most-attended #AbuDhabiGPs in history, following the dramatic conclusion to the season last year.

2022 will be the 14th Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

Further artist announcements are still to come for Sunday 20 and Thursday 17 November.
