A new concert series is coming to the capital. Beginning on 6 January, Saadiyat Nights is a three-month festival featuring an array of performances by international superstars against the stunning backdrop of Saadiyat Island. The lineup includes five-time Grammy winner Mariah Carey, iconic Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli, and acclaimed artist GooGoosh, who is embarking on her final tour. Saadiyat Nights will span several weeks, bringing together multiple international music legends to harness the unifying power of music. The specially constructed open-air venue will provide a breathtaking backdrop of Saadiyat Island’s vistas.
Mariah Carey
Kicking off the Saadiyat Nights festivities on 6 January is Mariah Carey, the five-time Grammy-winning superstar known as the ‘Songbird Supreme’ by Guinness World Records. She will grace the emirate with her remarkable five-octave vocal range and a catalogue of number-one hits spanning decades.
The American singer, songwriter, actress, and producer is hailed as one of the most influential vocalists in contemporary music. With a career spanning over three decades, Carey has produced numerous chart-topping hits, including Hero, Vision of Love, and We Belong Together. Beyond her musical prowess, Carey has ventured into acting, with notable roles in films like Precious and The Butler.
GooGoosh
On 20 January, GooGoosh, one of Iran’s most popular performers, will take the stage, presenting a stunning repertoire of songs spanning six decades of success. This tour marks her farewell, providing fans with a final opportunity to experience her favourite tracks performed live.
The legendary Iranian singer, actress, and cultural icon is renowned for her enduring impact on Persian pop music. GooGoosh is celebrated for her emotive voice, diverse musical style, and poignant lyrics, addressing themes of love, freedom, and societal issues. Rising to fame in the 1960s, she became a symbol of artistic resilience. GooGoosh’s discography includes timeless hits like Gole Bi Goldoon and Man Amadeam.
Andrea Bocelli
Beloved Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli will enchant fans on 27 January with passionate favourites from his extensive repertoire. B
lind since childhood due to a football accident, Bocelli’s extraordinary voice has become synonymous with classical and operatic excellence. Bocelli’s illustrious career includes numerous accolades, seven Classical BRIT Awards, and a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award. His crossover success into mainstream music is marked by chart-topping albums like Romanza and collaborations with artists including Celine Dion, Ed Sheeran and Luciano Pavarotti.
