Expect to get drenched alongside some of the biggest K-pop stars at the inaugural Dubai edition.
If you’re a big kid obsessed with all things K-pop, listen up: Waterbomb Festival is headed to Dubai. The lineup includes K-pop sensations 82MAJOR, CL, BIG Naughty, Jessi, Liu, PH-1, Simon Dominic, Sorn and tripleS, in addition to international artists Benny Benassi, DJ Snake and Nicky Romero. The event takes over Dubai Festival City on 7 and 8 June 2024,
So, what’s all the fuss about? Well, the Waterbomb Festival is one of South Korea’s most popular events, named after the water guns and water cannons and water fights that make it an aquatic spectacle unlike any other. An epic summer party that drenches performers and concertgoers alike, it has taken place annually in South Korean cities since 2015 — Seoul, Jeju, Daejeon, Busan, and Incheon included. Now, the Waterbomb Festival is going global. Not only will it return to Japan and Thailand in 2024, but it’s also expanding to Hong Kong, Singapore, Vietnam, China, and the UAE for the very first time.
Incidentally, previous editions have seen some of South Korea’s biggest artists take the stage, K-pop girl groups (Aespa and Oh My Girl) and a multitude of hip-hop and R&B artists (Lee Young Ji, Jessi, Jay Park, Zico, Crush, and Simon Dominic) included. Closer to home, Dubai audiences are asking, begging, and pleading to see SoKo’s ultimate boy bands on stage — the likes of Riize, Zerobaseone, and Stray Kids are in high demand.
What we can, however, assume is that Dubai will be last on the Waterbomb Festival circuit thanks to the scorching temperatures that are headed our way. Watch this space.
Tickets are available via Platinumlist starting from AED 275.
