The twelfth edition of MEFCC will delight movie, TV and graphic novel fans
Early bird tickets for the region’s premier pop culture festival, are now available for purchase. Middle East Film & Comic Con (MEFCC) will return to the capital from 9 to 11 February 2024 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) in the capital. A limited number of these early bird tickets are being made available, offering savings of up to 40% off the regular door prices.
MEFCC has also unveiled its first celebrity guest for the 2024 edition: the renowned American voice actor and musician, Troy Baker. Known for his voice roles in video games such as Joel in The Last of Us, Snow Villiers in Final Fantasy XIII, Jonesy in Fortnite, and as one of the few voice actors to have portrayed both the Joker and Batman, Troy Baker is sure to captivate fans with his diverse portfolio. His talents extend beyond gaming into the world of anime, where he has lent his voice to characters like Baki Hanma in Baki, Yamato and Pain in Naruto Shippuden, as well as other beloved titles like Fullmetal Alchemist and One Piece.
Registrations for the Cosplay Competition are also open. Devoted cosplayers can plan ahead and sign up for one of the four exciting categories. Cosplayers in the UAE can even take on the global stage by participating in the ‘World Cosplay Summit Preliminaries,’ with a chance to represent the UAE in the World Cosplay Summit finals in Nagoya, Japan. MEFCC will also feature three additional cosplay categories, including ‘Best Craftsmanship’ and ‘Best Performance on Stage,’ offering a prize pool of AED 35,000.
With its sights set on drawing thousands of visitors from across the Middle East, MEFCC has become one of the most anticipated events in the region. It serves as a grand showcase of both local and international entertainment, featuring some of the world’s most beloved fandoms, franchises, and brands spanning the realms of film, television, sci-fi, anime, manga, comics, collectibles, and much more.
