Catch the opening ceremony on Tuesday, 3 February for an interactive light display like no other.
The Sharjah Festival of Light is back for the 15th edition and running until 22 February. The annual event brings together art and creativity in celebration of Emirati culture and heritage in a dynamic way. And this year, it is under the theme ‘Reflections of Belonging’.
Don’t miss the opening ceremony on 3 February where we expect the emirate to be illuminated by artistic light displays that transform its landmarks into living canvases. The light displays and interactive experiences tell a story that began over 200,000 years ago, making it a special experience for all.
During the festival, you’ll see iconic cultural and tourist sites and landmarks in Sharjah to be illuminated in an insta-worthy display of art, created by well-known artists. Although the official list of landmarks has not been announced yet, in previous years the sites included General Souq – Al Hamriyah, University City Hall, Al Noor Mosque, Sharjah Mosque, Al Majaz Waterfront, Sharjah Fort and Kalba Clock Tower to name a few.

It’s absolutely worth visiting the Light Village which is extremely lively and offers shopping, dining options, interactive art and family-friendly activities in the fun outdoor space. You can wander through breathtaking light installations that transform the night into a mesmerising spectacle of colour and creativity.
You can also enjoy a variety of interactive activities, workshops, and thrilling experiences, while the little ones can immerse themselves in a dedicated play zone packed with fun and adventure.
The Sharjah Festival of Light Festival is running until 22 February and offers an enlightening experience for all ages.
