Irish pop band Westlife will be back to serenade audiences with their timeless hits for a single show at the Etihad Arena on October 27.
Nicky Byrne, Kian Egan, Shane Filan and Mark Feehily first formed the band in 1998, scoring their first big break by opening for Boyzone and Backstreet Boys’ concerts that year.
They quickly shot to stardom with their first self-titled album, then releasing 9 more which all saw resounding success. They decided to split in 2011, with their farewell tour selling out within minutes.
Their 2018 reunion and tour saw fans old and new flocking to sold-out stadiums worldwide. As of their newest album, Wild Dreams, the global pop legends boast a staggering 33 number-1 albums worldwide, four Guinness World Records, and over 55 million records sold.
Their last Abu Dhabi concert was just over a year ago and unforgettable, not because of their captivating performance but also because of the heartwarming moment when the band invited Dian, a cancer fighter onstage. They touched fans worldwide when they personally checked off the last item on the poster checklist Dian was holding, “Fight cancer, see Westlife, take a pic with Westlife.”
