Scheduled for Saturday, 21 October at Etihad Arena on Yas Island, fans making their way to the UAE capital are in for a treat with a week-long extravaganza known as Abu Dhabi Showdown Week. Commencing on 16 October, this exhilarating week of MMA festivities will serve as a thrilling lead-up to the much-anticipated UFC 294.
In celebration of the fifth instalment of Abu Dhabi Showdown Week and the UFC’s 30th anniversary, UFC and the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) have unveiled an array of engaging activities and events. On 18 October, Yas Mall will host the official UFC Open Workouts, providing fans with an up-close look at the training techniques of UFC 294 athletes. The following day, 19 October, will see the UFC 294: Makhachev Vs. Oliveira 2 Press Conference at Etihad Arena, featuring insights from key athletes on the card.
On 20 October, the official UFC Ceremonial Weigh-ins are set to electrify fans with the intense face-offs as athletes step onto the scale at Etihad Arena, setting the stage for the epic showdown the following day.
Throughout Abu Dhabi Showdown Week, fans can immerse themselves in the excitement through the UFC Fan Experience, which will be available at Yas Mall from 16 to 22 October and at Yas Bay from 18 to 22 October. These locations offer Athlete Meet and Greets opportunities and interactive experiences like the UFC Striking Challenge and the UFC Legacy Championship Belt. Best of all, these activations are free and open to the public.
The Abu Dhabi Showdown Week festivities extend beyond the octagon, featuring a Robbie Williams concert on 18 October and a comedy show hosted by Andrew Schulz on 22 October.
