Earlier this month, we reported on a new Palm West Beach destination named The Club that has singlehandedly elevated the average beach day in Dubai, housing nine unique concepts under one roof. Now, following the successive opening of SĀN Beach and Eva Beach House, Playa Beach Club is gearing up to debut on 4 May – and it brings with it quite the culinary backstory. Behind the new concept is a Japanese fisherman who left Japan for Peru with the intention of opening his own cevicheria. Forced to adapt to Peruvian culture and local produce in order to create his vision of the Nikkei-Peruvian cuisine, he transformed the likes of quinoa, aji amarillo peppers, and fish from the Pacific using Japanese cooking techniques.
Closer to home, this colourful and vibrant Palm Jumeirah beach club concept is rooted in celebrating the renewal of life by encouraging individuality with soulful music while embracing the sun in every bite of the exquisite fusion cuisine created by Peruvian chef Carlo Valentino and every sip from the extensive signature Pisco-inspired cocktail drinks menu. Playa’s food inspirations originate from the diversity of the Peruvian climate and landscapes, ranging from the desert strip on the Pacific coast (where its capital Lima is located) to the Andes (the world’s longest mountain range) and the Amazon basin (with the largest rainforest on earth).
As for its array of spaces? Playa Beach Club will feature an indoor restaurant and multiple outdoor lounge areas ranging from a white sand beach adjacent to the swimming pool – one of the few in this vicinity – to a terrace ideal for sundowners, complete with killer views. It’s also expected to host all manner of lively events, brunch feasts of Peruvian flavours and business lunches included. An inspirational sunset ritual, meanwhile, will see Shamanic House vibes celebrate the transition from day to night as guests are welcome to lounge and indulge until 2am daily.
