Grosvenor House Dubai to become home to three new venues including City Social and 7 Tales.
The brainchild of celebrity chef and restaurateur Jason Atherton, this three-venue dining concept is set to reposition Dubai Marina’s dining and nightlife scene.
Spanning the top three levels of Tower 2 in Grosvenor House Dubai, a Luxury Collection Hotel, will be City Social of London fame, 7 Tales by Jason Atherton, and a yet-to-be-revealed third venue. The three-venue rooftop dining destination will be open to all from Friday 3 February.
City Social
The latest culinary concept from the world-renowned chef and owner of two Michelin-starred restaurants in London, City Social offers modern-European cuisine in a stunning setting with panoramic views of Dubai’s skyline.
City Social is built around a remarkable cocktail bar, set against an impressive floor-to-ceiling wine cellar. The seven-metre marble bar takes centre stage, while resident DJs add to the vibrant atmosphere. The buzzing bar area also features its own terrace overlooking Dubai Marina, Dubai Harbour, Palm Jumeirah and the Arabian Gulf.
In keeping with the dining style of City Social’s sister property in London, City Social Dubai has quite simply been created to give you an environment, a venue and a menu to be enjoyed any way you wish – the choice is all yours.
The menu, designed to let the ingredients do the talking, features some of the dishes Jason is most famous for. Some exciting new additions include Scottish salmon with king crab, cucumber, dill and trout eggs; ravioli of shellfish with seaweed, mushroom jam and sweetcorn velouté; roasted sea bass with shellfish ragout and seaweed butter; and pistachio soufflé with dark chocolate ice cream.
Commenting on the launch, Jason Atherton said: “City Social promises uncomplicated luxury in a spectacular setting. We’ll provide the venue and the menu, it’s up to you how you want to spend your time at any or all of our venues.”
City Social is open from 5pm until 2am from Monday through Thursday and from 5pm until 3am on Fridays and Saturdays, whatever the occasion, there’s a spot at just for you.
7 Tales by Jason Atherton
A sweeping staircase, a striking feature of City Social, will take you to the second venue – 7 Tales Dubai. Taking inspiration from the early 1960s Golden Age in Japan, this Izakaya-styled speakeasy is the latest entry in Dubai’s nightlife scene.
The Tokyo-inspired carefree den brings together the hustle and bustle of Tokyo after dark and the funky vibes of Japanese hip-hop tunes from 7 Tales’ resident DJs. The venue features a cocktail bar, offering an array of Japanese gin, whisky, sake, and cocktails exclusively handcrafted by the talented bar team, as well as Asian-inspired bar bites from the kitchen.
Funky design elements include a bespoke, effervescent graffiti wall and ceiling by the talented graffiti artist, Gary Yong. The speakeasy also boasts a special negroni table with a game element, allowing you to lose yourself in the soul of Tokyo.
7 Tales is open from 7pm until 3am from Monday through Saturday.
The third venue is a closely guarded secret set to be revealed in the coming weeks. The three concepts are all housed within inter-accessible levels at Grosvenor House.
