Any jaunt to Spain inevitably brings with it a culinary scavenger hunt across the country, dining on small portions of croquettes, pan con tomate, and traditional Spanish omelette, in search of the best tapas. In Abu Dhabi, however, there’s only one address that matters: José by Pizarro.
Elevating the rather casual tradition by way of modern interiors and well-sourced ingredients (while holding onto its social aspects), the award-winning spot at Conrad Abu Dhabi Etihad Towers presents The Big Spanish brunch, happening every first Saturday of every month from 1pm – 4 pm showcasing Spain’s vibrant flavours and lively spirit to the heart of the capital. We’re told that, true to José by Pizarro’s DNA, this unique brunch experience offers authentic Spanish cuisine, a relaxed atmosphere, and a memorable afternoon with friends and family.
Rooted in a variety of tapas-style dishes, the brunch menu has been carefully curated by the restaurant’s team of chefs to capture the essence of Spanish dining — delicious and perfect for sharing. Upgrade from the Soft Beverages package (AED 350) to the Wine & Beer package (AED 480), and your meal will be paired with a selection of wines, beers or handcrafted cocktails. For an elevated experience premium Cava and Champagne package is also available (AED660). Seats are limited and, if the popularity of previous offerings is any indication, reservations are highly encouraged.
Elsewhere, you can enjoy live music from Tuesday to Sunday, and head to José by Pizarro on a Thursday for unlimited Paella Night for only AED 450 per couple.
With José Pizarro – who hails from Talaván in the Spanish city of Cáceres – at its helm, the restaurant is the lauded chef-restaurateur’s first venture outside of Europe. Known as the Godfather of Spanish cuisine, he has racked up innumerable accolades for his ambassadorship of Spanish cuisine over the years, the Order of Isabel la Catholica in March included. Soon after, José by Pizarro was awarded Best Spanish Cuisine on a Global Level and Best Tapas Restaurant in the Middle East at the Haute Grandeur Global Restaurant Awards 2024 this summer. Enough said.
