The best dishes from the acclaimed chefs time at Zuma, Play and Reif Japanese Kushiyaki.
Chef Reif Othman, who was honoured with a Golden Visa earlier this year, will host a one-off ticketed dinner on Monday, 6 December at Reif Japanese Kushiyaki, Dar Wasl, to celebrate the UAE Golden Jubilee and his 15-year culinary journey.
During the evening, Reif will showcase an unconventional Japanese menu featuring 15 of his most iconic dishes, paired with Avantcha teas presented by tea sommelier Marina Rabei.
These dishes span his culinary career in Dubai, including highlights from his time working at Zuma and Play Restaurant. Diners will enjoy pita surprise, lobster carpaccio, duck gyoza, and caviar cauliflower, alongside matcha fondant and Reif’s popular gold bars.
The exclusive 50-set dinner will be held across two seatings at 6.30pm and 9.30pm, priced at AED500 per person, including a welcome mocktail, 15 sharing plates, tea pairing, and a surprise golden gift.

“I am so grateful given the challenges around the world that we’ve had a successful year here. So we’re ending 2021 on a high note with a special one-off dinner to celebrate both the UAE Golden Jubilee and my 15-year journey,” said Reif Othman, chef and co-owner, Reif Japanese Kushiyaki.
In addition to the exclusive dinner, Reif will also introduce a selection of festive-inspired dishes at the two Dar Wasl restaurants from Thursday 9 to Saturday 25 December. These include turkey two-ways ramen (AED 72), Singaporean rice with slow-cooked turkey breast, braised Brussels sprouts and chestnut rice (AED 175), a festive mood dessert of hazelnut dacquoise sponge, chocolate mousse, lotus and spice ice cream (AED 38) and a festive log cake (AED 325).
