The largest shopping mall in the world debuts 65 new shops and restaurants.
From sweet treats and gourmet coffee to diamond-encrusted jewellery and everything in between, Dubai Mall has marked the beginning of March with no less than 65 new retail and dining destinations. Named The District, this new collection of shops and restaurants is the latest luxurious addition to the world’s largest shopping destination.
Described as the destination for homegrown flavours and unique experiences, The District was officially opened to the public on 01 March. It can be found next to the Ice Rink and Level Shoes on the ground floor and complements the 1,200 other destinations already open for business.
If you’re a regular visitor, you may notice that this area seems familiar. That’s because this space was previously known as The Souk. As the Mall undergoes an extensive revamp, the old Souk has been transformed in recent months and is now home to a host of new brands. Additional spaces are also expected to open as part of a wider AED 1.15 billion expansion program. Announced last year, the planned extension will see a total of 240 new food and beverage and retail spaces added to the mall’s existing footprint.
For a snack while you shop, you’ll find an array of fast and casual dining options with an abundance of coffee shops to choose from. Highlights include sweet treats from Home Baker Kitchen, sustainable caffeine at Joud Coffee, breakfast at hotspot Mado and lunch at trendy ramen spot SLRP Ramen by 3Fils.
Dubai Mall has also secured a raft of coveted retail brand names for The District, further cementing its reputation as the number one shopping destination in the region. Last year it welcomed 111 million visitors through its doors.
