Lando Norris closed the gap in the title race with a well-timed strategy and narrow win over teammate Oscar Piastri in Budapest.
McLaren locked out the top two spots at the Hungaroring, with Lando Norris taking his fifth win of the season. Oscar Piastri finished just 0.6 seconds behind after a late charge, reducing his championship lead to nine points going into the summer break.
Charles Leclerc led the opening stages from pole but dropped back after a two-stop strategy and a five-second penalty for erratic driving. He finished fourth behind George Russell, who secured third for Mercedes after a clean one-stop run.
Fernando Alonso came home fifth for Aston Martin, followed by Gabriel Bortoleto in sixth for Kick Sauber and Lance Stroll in seventh. Liam Lawson held onto eighth for Racing Bulls ahead of Max Verstappen, who had a quiet afternoon in ninth. Kimi Antonelli took the final point for Mercedes.
Lewis Hamilton finished outside the points in 12th, while Ollie Bearman retired early with damage. A number of midfield drivers, including Carlos Sainz and Pierre Gasly, also had difficult races and finished outside the top ten.
McLaren remain in control of both championships, but Verstappen’s recent form and Norris’s momentum leave the second half of the season wide open.

Benson Boone kicks things off on Thursday, followed by Post Malone on Friday, Metallica on Saturday and Katy Perry closing out the weekend on Sunday.
