The legendary multihyphenate is bringing his smooth and soulful ballads to Saadiyat Nights on 22 February.
It’s barely been a week since Lionel Richie ushered in 2025 at Dubai’s Atlantis The Palm with an 11-song set packed with hits like “Easy”, “Hello”, and “Brick House” — and just like that, he’s set to return. This time around, though, he’s Abu Dhabi bound. The legendary singer-songwriter will take the Saadiyat Nights stage on Saturday, 22 February.
No stranger to the capital, Richie performed at the Yasalam After-Race Concerts back in 2016. And come February, his show will follow a stellar line-up that currently boasts the likes of Boyz II Men (15 January), Michael Bublé (16 January), and Christina Aguilera (15 February). A youthful 75, Richie stands out on the roster for earning superstar status first as a member of funk and soul group Commodores, then as a solo artist whose work defies the confines of traditional genres. Incidentally, he’s also the world’s only songwriter to have a number one song on one of the main charts for seven years in a row.
With over 125 million albums sold worldwide, an Oscar, a Golden Globe, and four Grammy Awards, he was rightfully inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2022. The following year, Richie concluded the first run of his acclaimed sold out 20-city Sing a Song All Night Long arena tour featuring Earth, Wind & Fire before continuing his longtime residency at Encore Theater in Las Vegas. Here at home, he’ll perform for one night only, and tickets are expected to sell out — fast.
Transforming the capital’s favourite open-air venue into a magical escape of the sonic kind, Saadiyat Nights is set against the visually striking backdrop of Saadiyat Island’s world-renowned vistas, so this exclusive event promises an unforgettable fusion of music and starlight. Tickets start from AED 295 and are available at ticketmaster.ae.
