The new open-air concert series will span music legends from Lebanon, Iran, Italy and more.
Saadiyat Island is increasingly at the centre of it all in Abu Dhabi, drawing not only foodies, beachgoers, and art and culture enthusiasts, but also melomaniacs. Following global superstar Mariah Carey’s performance under the stars over the weekend at Saadiyat Island, more details have been revealed about the new Saadiyat Nights concert series — and it includes Sting’s return to the capital on 3 February.
The acclaimed singer-songwriter is no stranger to the UAE, having captivated audiences in Dubai and Abu Dhabi with live renditions of hits like Englishman in New York and Desert Rose. Showcasing musical legends from across the globe, the inaugural Saadiyat Nights is currently taking place in a specially constructed open-air venue that boasts a stunning backdrop of Saadiyat Island vistas. Also set to appear? Iranian singer Googoosh on 20 January and Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli on 27 January.
Incidentally, Saadiyat Nights will continue to bring concerts to the capital for three months, so a lot more names will be announced in the coming weeks. Tickets start from AED 200 and are available at ticketmaster.ae.
