The Yas Island favourite is getting its biggest upgrade yet, including the UAE’s tallest waterslide.
Yas Waterworld Yas Island, Abu Dhabi is about to get a serious upgrade with a brand new expansion packed with 11 rides and attractions, reopening on April 4.
Once open, the park will feature more than 70 experiences in total, making it one of the biggest waterparks in the region. Whether you’re into high-speed thrills or just want to float about on the lazy river, there’s something here for everyone.
Created by Miral, the new addition builds on the park’s ‘Lost City’ storyline, an extension of The Legend of The Lost Pearl. Expect more slides, more splash zones and plenty of reasons to stay all day.
The headline grabber is Matamir’s Drop, set to become the UAE’s tallest waterslide. We’re talking a drop from over 40m followed by a 233m ride that’s not for the faint-hearted. If that sounds like your kind of fun, Sahel Matamir brings a fast-paced tube racing experience with bursts of speed and moments that feel like zero gravity.
There’s more where that came from. Matamir Loop is built for quick descents, while Matamir Twist keeps things fast with sharp turns and sudden drops. If you’ve got a competitive streak, Matamir Splash lets you race your friends side by side to the finish.
It’s not all about adrenaline though. Sarab is a new leisure pool designed for easy, laidback moments, while Al Afda invites brave guests to jump straight into the water below.
