Yas Movies in the Park paired free film screenings with a trip down memory lane.
Gen Z’s obsession with the 1980s continues to be fuelled by the likes of Stranger Things, Ghostbusters: Afterlife, and Thor: Love and Thunder, making Yas Movies in the Park an apt addition to Abu Dhabi’s entertainment scene. The free community event was hosted by BRAG Events in partnership with DSCVR at Yas Links Golf Club Abu Dhabi, Yas Island, on 5 and 6 November.
Anchored in nostalgia and perfect for all ages, Yas Movies In The Park transported guests back in time to experience the movies, gaming and fashion of such an iconic era. Showing six classic movies, and providing plenty of fun in the form of arcade machines, retro video games, neon pool tables, pinball machines, air hockey tables, and plenty of tunes from the decade. To top off the sentimentality, a selection of the best toys of the era were available for everyone to enjoy, taking them back to evoke childhood memories.

Festivalgoers were also be given a chance to turn back the clock on their outfits as a makeover booth was on hand. Bright lights and neon hues set the tone for the festival’s aesthetic. “If you want to revisit some of your best childhood memories, watch timeless classics, and get feel-good vibes, then this is the place to go,” says Omar Kawas, General Manager of BRAG. “Fun for the whole family with our interactive games, arcades, and iconic movies, this festival is not to be missed. We are delighted to be able to bring this free community showpiece to Abu Dhabi and give people a throwback like no other.”
