The UAE capital is set to host the Middle East premiere of Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One in a lavish red-carpet event at Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental on Monday, 26 June. Attendees will include Hollywood megastar Tom Cruise and the film’s director Christopher McQuarrie.
The Paramount Pictures production found exceptional settings within Abu Dhabi for the film, utilising both the Liwa desert landscape and the Abu Dhabi Midfield Terminal. This achievement was made possible through the valuable support of the Abu Dhabi Film Commission (ADFC), which operates under the Creative Media Authority. The shoot involved the construction of an Arabian village in the desert and the creation of multiple sets at the terminal, allowing the production team to capture remarkable footage on the rooftop of the expansive 742,000 square meter terminal, boasting the world’s longest single-standing arch, measuring 180 meters.
This marks the second time the Mission Impossible franchise has chosen Abu Dhabi as a filming location. The previous installment, Mission: Impossible – Fallout, featured the breathtaking HALO jump sequence, which was also shot in Abu Dhabi.
In addition to Tom Cruise and director Christopher McQuarrie, the Middle East Premiere of the film will welcome other prominent stars, including Hayley Atwell, Pom Klementieff, and Simon Pegg.

Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One joins the ranks of 140 major productions filmed in Abu Dhabi over the past decade, attracting renowned companies such as Disney, Netflix, Legendary Pictures, and Universal Pictures. The list of films includes notable titles like 6 Underground, Dune and its sequel, Furious 7, and Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
