Food enthusiasts with a penchant for traditional Japanese delicacies can rejoice as Beirut’s famous Mitsu-Ya Sushi Bar and Izakaya has arrived in Dubai.
The new restaurant is situated inside The Ritz-Carlton DIFC and offers a bespoke dining experience of authentic Japanese cuisine. The name Mitsu-Ya derives from founder Mitsu Arai’s first name and the Japanese word for house (‘Ya’), meaning you are literally dining at the chef’s home.

Greeted by staff adorned in kimonos, the venue features wooden and bamboo elements adorned with oriental detailing. This minimalist destination consists of a few seats at the chef’s bar, where guests enjoy an omakase experience. The term “omakase” translates to ‘respectfully leaving another to decide what is best.’ Here, the chef will prepare each course based on the preferences of those seated at the counter. Expect Otoro Tuna, Hamachi, grilled or marinated fish in the form of nigiri and sashimi.

For those who prefer to experience Mitsu-ya the à la carte way, the Izakaya menu is a seamless curation of delicacies. Choices include the Asari Clam Soup, Green Tea Noodle Crab, Popcorn Shrimp served with Mitsu-ya sauce and Kinoke Saute. The journey continues with bowls of Ramen and main courses such as Grilled Octopus and Wagyu Tenderloin served with yuzu-mashed potato.

For dessert, expect Green Tea Fondant or the Mitsu-Ya Chocolat Parfait to end your meal journey on a sweet note. Diners can also pair their meal with house speciality sakes, Japanese hops and refreshing mocktails.
